Desert Jet Earns IS-BAO Stage III Registration
August 3, 2016, Palm Springs, California – Desert Jet, the premier aircraft management and charter company based in the Palm Springs area of California, participated recently in an IS-BAO audit and received Stage III registration.
IS-BAO is a worldwide code of best practices based on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) International Standards and Recommended Practices. It is designed to help business aviation companies and flight departments achieve the highest level of safety and professionalism. IS-BAO registration occurs in three stages; each stage concluding with an independent third-party audit of the company’s Safety Management System and safety culture.
Desert Jet was one of the first operators globally to embrace the IS-BAO standard, completing Stage I requirements in 2009. Stage II is demonstrated in part by the presence of a functioning Safety Management System with results being measured and safety risks effectively managed. Achievement of Stage III registration is demonstrated by a Safety Management System that is sustained and supported by an on-going improvement process, with safety management activities being fully integrated into the operator’s business and a positive safety culture being sustained.
In addition to the IS-BAO Stage III Registration, Desert Jet recently renewed its Wyvern Wingman designation and ARGUS Platinum rating. These renewals were also the result of thorough on-site audits by the respective organizations.
Desert Jet is committed to instilling a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement that comes directly from the input of our team members. Obtaining IS-BAO Stage III registration and continued renewal of our ARGUS Platinum rating and Wyvern Wingman designation reflects our commitment to our core value of Safety is Paramount.
Fewer than 1% of all charter operators in the U.S. have earned the level of safety accreditation that Desert Jet has attained.
